I was born in 1958 in the İliç district of Erzincan. I laid the foundations of my artistic journey at the Istanbul State Academy of Fine Arts (now MSGSÜ), completing my master's degree in the Department of Basic Art and Sciences between 1980 and 1985. During this period, I had the privilege of working in the studio of the master artist Neşet Günal for a year upon his personal invitation. Following my graduation from the academy, I spent many years working as a storyboard artist and art director at Turkey's leading advertising agencies, while simultaneously sustaining my artistic production through group and solo exhibitions. For the past decade, I have been shaping my work through a unique scratching technique that I have developed and refined. As I continue to open solo exhibitions and meet audiences at prestigious art fairs both in Turkey and abroad, I center my canvas on social issues and the wounds of our contemporary world. In my recent works, I narrate the human tragedy of Palestine, environmental crises, the fading green texture of Istanbul, the relationship between nature and humanity, and modern man's alienation from digital life—all through the layered depth provided by the scratching technique.
